The Revival of the Corset

The corset has had a few revivals since its inception in the 16th century, but there’s been nothing like the latest reinterpretations. For that reason, I’ve always been a bit weary of trying this trend. As a huge fan of the old English and French styles – frill blouses, plaid blazers and high necklines, I decided to take a shot with this Isabel Marant corset.

Not only has Isabel Marat been one of my absolute favorite French designers for a long time. Her take on the real woman walking down the street is like none other. She knows exactly how to make a woman feel confident, powerful and sexy all at the same time. I paired this modern Victorian staple with a Frame frilled blouse, MSGM tailored blazer, leather cropped pants and Balenciaga sock boots (shoe staple of the season) to keep my look on par with the cool French girl.
