With news that the Spice Girls could be reuniting for a tour, I’ve been taking some style inspiration from my favourite Spice Girl, Sporty Spice, and this outfit couldn’t ring more true. You may have already noticed that I really enjoy trying a wide variety of looks and I don’t typically stick to a solid uniform. Topshop has recently had a major influx of Adidas Originals pieces and I wanted to try and make some of the pieces more street friendly than just gym or airport appropriate.
Athleisure has really become mainstream day wear with most of my girlfriends in the Chicago suburbs wearing Lululemon, Varley, Bandier and Sweaty Betty. Even the SS18 runways caught on to sporting athleisure styles with Mary Katrantzou breaking out the windbreakers and parkas and Peter Pilotto making track pants look chicer than ever.
If you wear your workout gear out the door in the morning, you’ll have more chances of making it to the gym, right? Or maybe this way of dressing has become the new norm of comfort. All I need to do is put on my sneakers and I’m out the door for my 9am meeting without being a minute late for 10:30am spin. No excuses with this one…
