London Fashion Week FW17

I spent last week skiing in the French Alps of Courchevel and this week  front row at LFW, two incredible weeks with two very different dress codes.

Fashion Week is one of the most exciting events to style for. It is such a unique event, the entire purpose of which is fashion, so when it comes to dressing anything goes. You can style looks that vary from polished and tailored to the completely outrageous, and it changes day to day and year to year. Every moment of fashion week has its own vibe and look.

When it comes to styling myself for LFW, I opt for pieces that can easily transition from show to show no matter the designers’ aesthetic. When you are attending upwards of six runway shows/presentations in one day and events go late into the evening it is really important to feel comfortable in what your wearing also. Of course there will be the inevitable blister from wearing heels on cobbles but there is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in what you’re wearing on days when fashion really matters. The most important part about dressing for LFW (or anything for that matter) is that you feel confident so that you can fully enjoy it.

For day one I decided on an outfit comprised of Attico and Acne. This  Attico denim top is dramatic but also has just the right amount of stretch to structure the ruffled top whilst still being comfortable. Cut-out shoulders give it an easy-to-wear contemporary feel and it is subtly sexy which I love. I paired this look with an amazing Acne Studios forest-green trench coat. It has a straight calf-skimming silhouette that can be worn open or if closed given its buckle-fastening waist belt and cuffs. It is classic in both shape and the fact that it is double-breasted, but the color really does transform it into something that is exciting to wear. This ensemble was created with LFW in mind however the finished look can translate to much more than just a look made for the FROW.
